Privacy Policy

Effective June 13, 2026

This policy covers the DIRT website at dirttrades.com and the DIRT mobile app. It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with — including the AI services that power the app's voice feature — and how to get your information removed. We keep it plain.

"DIRT," "we," "us," and "our" mean DIRT Trades DBA, the operator of dirttrades.com. If you have a question about anything here, email get@dirttrades.com.

What we collect

  • Your phone number. When you join the early-access / testing list, we ask for a phone number so we can text you when the app is ready to test. This is the main thing we collect.
  • Your email (optional). If you give us an email, we may use it to reach you about early access.
  • Basic site analytics. When you visit the site we record page views, the page that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you clicked (UTM parameters). We use this to understand which pages and links are working.
  • A small record in your browser. We store a small attribution record in your browser's localStorage so we can tie a sign-up back to the link you came from. It stays in your browser and you can clear it any time through your browser settings.

Why we collect it

  • To text or email you when DIRT is ready for you to test.
  • To see which messages and pages are bringing contractors in, so we can stop wasting effort on the ones that aren't.
  • To answer you if you reach out, and to keep the list and the site working.

That's it. We don't build advertising profiles and we don't track you across other websites.

Text messages: consent and how to stop

When you give us your phone number to join the list, you agree that we can text you about early access and testing. Message frequency isn't fixed. Message and data rates may apply.

You can stop the texts at any time — reply STOP to any message and we'll stop texting that number. Reply HELP for help, or email get@dirttrades.com. Opting out of texts won't affect anything else.

How it's stored and secured

The phone numbers and emails on the list are stored in a secured database (Supabase / Postgres). We limit who can get to that data and we take reasonable steps to protect it. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we treat your contact info like it matters — because it does.

We don't sell your data

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't rent or trade it. We don't run third-party ad trackers on this site.

Third parties

Our analytics are first-party and self-hosted on our own server at analytics.dirttrades.com (PostHog), so your page-view data stays with us rather than going to an outside ad network. We use Supabase as a data processor to host the database that holds the early-access list. We may use a service to actually send the text messages. These providers only handle your information to provide their service to us, under their own terms.

How long we keep it

We keep your phone number and any email on the early-access list until the app launches and we've finished inviting people, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first. Analytics records are kept only as long as we need them to understand how the site is doing. When we no longer need information, we delete it or strip what identifies you.

Your rights and how to delete your info

You can ask us what we have on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To be removed from the list or to have your information deleted, email get@dirttrades.com from or with the phone number or email you signed up with, and we'll take care of it. To stop texts only, reply STOP as described above.

The DIRT app

The DIRT app helps contractors log jobs, track costs and mileage, see real profit, and create and send invoices — much of it hands-free using the in-app voice assistant ("AI Talk"). This section explains what the app collects, how it collects it, how we use it, and which third parties we share it with.

What the app collects

  • Account info. The email or phone number you sign in with, and your business profile (business name, contact details, hourly rate, logo, and brand settings you enter).
  • Your business data. The jobs, clients, bids, invoices, costs, payments, trips/mileage, photos, and notes you create in the app.
  • Voice and transcripts. When you use AI Talk, the app records your voice during the session and converts it to text so the assistant can understand and act on what you say.
  • Subscription and usage. Your subscription status (via Apple) and basic in-app usage needed to run features such as the monthly Talk limit.

How the app collects it

We collect this information directly from you — when you sign up, fill in your profile, enter or dictate job and money details, take photos, or speak to AI Talk. Voice is captured only while a Talk session is active; when you stop the session, the app stops sending audio.

How we use it

  • To run the app's core features: logging work, tracking costs and mileage, calculating profit, and creating and sending invoices.
  • To power AI Talk — turning your speech into text and into the actions you ask for (for example, "log this job" or "what's this client's discount?").
  • To keep your account secure, support you, and operate and improve the service.

AI Talk and third-party AI services

AI Talk works by sending data to third-party AI services. When you use AI Talk, the app sends your voice recording, its text transcript, and the relevant business data needed to answer or act (such as client names, jobs, bids, invoices, and amounts you ask about or dictate) to the following providers:

  • Vapi — runs the live voice session that connects you to the assistant.
  • Deepgram — converts your speech into text (transcription).
  • Anthropic — generates the assistant's responses and the actions it takes.

We ask for your permission inside the app before AI Talk sends any of this data for the first time, and you can use the rest of the app without using AI Talk. These providers process your data only to deliver the AI Talk feature to you, under their own terms, and are contractually required to protect it to a standard at least equal to the protections described in this policy. They do not use your data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your data.

Where the app stores your data

Your account and business data are stored in our secured database (Supabase / Postgres), with access limited and reasonable safeguards in place. Apple processes your subscription. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we treat your business and money information like it matters — because it does.

Your choices and deleting your app data

You can review the AI Talk disclosure any time in the app under Settings. You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app, or email get@dirttrades.com and we'll take care of it.

Children

DIRT is a tool for contractors and their businesses. The site and the list are not directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor gave us information, email get@dirttrades.com and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product grows or the law changes. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll do our best to let people on the list know.
